Booking an EVA

EVA programming is available for an additional fee.

EVA is a NASA acronym for Extra Vehicular Activity (commonly, a space walk.) At the Buehler Center, we use the term to refer to additional training thematically related to the Rendezvous with Comet Halley, Return to the Moon, or Voyage to Mars scenarios, which takes place outside the simulators. This is an additional two hours of curriculum which allows you to extend your visit to the Center, creating a full day experience. It may be scheduled at any time throughout the year with your scheduled mission.

Scheduling Considerations:

Single or double groups may reserve the program. (For Example, if you reserve the 8:30am & 11:00am mission times for 2 groups, they can arrive together and 1 group will receive EVA while the other group is flying a mission. After lunch, the groups will switch and be finished by 1pm.)

An EVA may be booked for each mission scheduled, based upon availability. The time your group would spend at the Center will conform to one of the following choices:

Choice I
Mission from 8:30-10:30, EVA from 11:00-1:00 or vice versa

Choice II
Mission from 10:45-12:45, EVA from 1:15-3:15 or vice versa
