- Arrival should be planned about 10 minutes before you mission.
As our school day schedule is very tight, please do not arrive
too early. We will take care of coats, etc. after you enter.
Late arrivals will result in a shortened mission.
- Buses should pull up to the front door of our building. After
your students leave the bus, the driver will need to park in the
rear of Lot F until your mission is over.
- Restrooms are available, and will take time away from your
mission, so please plan accordingly. If you come from a distance,
please inform us when you arrive that your group will need to use
the restroom.
- Chaperones are required, 1 adult per 10 students, and a maximum
of 6. These can be parents, teachers or administrators who will
assist the students, but not do the tasks for them.
- Crew Manifest please bring 2 copies
for your Mission Commanders,
and include the following information: Mission date, time, grade,
number of students, boys, girls and adults.
- Snow make-up days have been scheduled into our yearly calendar.
You may reschedule your mission only if your school or Bergen
Community College closes.
- Special Needs Please let us know, in advance, of students with
special needs. We will help you to place them on a team for optimal
success.
- Gift Shop and Photo Opportunities will be available to your class
after their mission. Remember-everything has tax, six cents per
dollar! Photo opportunities must be arranged with our Mission
Service Department prior to mission day.
- Do bring Cameras, still and video-- Students may take pictures after
the mission, teachers and chaperones during. We also have a
collection of Patches, so bring your insignia, and we will add
it to the display for the next school year. Nametags for students
are helpful. Remind students with reading glasses that they will
need them for this trip. We also remind you to bring a first aid
kit and any required medications.
- Don't bring Gum, candy, radios, backpacks, hats, pencils, pens,
papers, or small children.
- Shoes no open-toed or sandals, for airlock safety.
- Lunch facilities are not available in the building. You may
use the picnic tables outdoors, please clean up before you go.
Otherwise, plan on eating on the bus or visiting any one of our
nearby restaurants.
- Video is due back 6 weeks from your workshop date, or your
mission date, whichever is sooner. (Unless, of course, you
have purchased it.) If you do not sign out a video on the
day of your workshop, you need to come to the Center to pick it
up. The videos are not mailed out. You may return it by mail.
A fee will be charged if the video is not returned.
- Pre-visit activities are essential to the success of the mission!
Please do as much preparation as you can.
